Why Be a Member
The aims of the MDAA are:
- To provide industry leadership in promoting safety, training, professionalism, honesty and the highest ethical standards.
- To promote the minerals drilling industry
- To provide our members with professional representation to clients, government agencies, learning institutions and indigenous peoples.
- To be a conduit and forum for the dissemination of information, safety alerts and items of industry concern.
- To be leaders in the development and implementation of training programmes that suit the needs of our members.
- To make our voice heard as the primary industry representative body.
- To listen to our members and act on their behalf, wherever practicable.
The MDAA seeks to achieve its aims by:
- Having open meetings with its members.
- Disseminating current and relevant information through seminars, newsletters and safety alerts.
- Developing industry specific training programmes that include Competency Standards, Assessment Tools and training material.
- Lobbying on behalf of members.
- Advising government and other agencies about the special needs of the drilling industry.
- Develop safety statistical information to provide benchmarks for the industry.
- Being active in training organisations.
- Prepare and promote a standard form of tender.
- Provide assistance wherever possible.
Requirements
There are several requirements which you must fill in order to become an MDAA Member. We have a simple checklist available in PDF format which you can use to self-assess yourself before applying for membership.
